Day 1. Departure day
After arriving in Iceland, you will be taken from the airport to the centrally located hotel in Reykjavik. The rest of the day can be spent exploring Reykjavik on your own before the adventure really begins tomorrow. Dinner is enjoyed at the hotel.
Day 2. Sightseeing in Reykjavik and Northern Lights excursion
After a delicious breakfast, the first day offers an exciting guided sightseeing tour in Reykjavik. You will be picked up at the hotel in a minivan and the trip will take you past the Icelandic Presidential Residence and the architectural Harpa Concert Hall. From there you will visit Reykjavik’s museum and vantage point, the Perlan Dome, which offers a great view of the city, as well as the historic Höfði building and the beautiful Hallgrímskirkja church. The sightseeing tour ends with a stroll at the old harbor where you can saunter down the bustling streets of the city center. The tour then goes back to the hotel, where you can relax before the evening’s magical Northern Lights tour.
In the evening, a bus will pick you up directly from the hotel and drive out of town, hoping to see the winter darkness be broken by the dancing Northern Lights. The skilled and experienced guides will both tell stories, answer your questions and create the best settings for you to catch a glimpse of the natural phenomenon. You will have plenty of time to take pictures both from the bus and outside in the Icelandic terrain before returning to the hotel and enjoy the evening’s delicious 3-course menu.
Day 3. Golden Circle Classic
Today it is time to visit some of Iceland’s most historic and scenic sights, all found on The Golden Circle route. After breakfast, the day’s excursion will you take by bus to the circular route in southwestern Iceland, where you will pass the historic Thingvellir National Park, which offers lava fields and footprints from the Viking Age. Here it is also possible to see two tectonic plates meet very visibly and then glide away from one another. Next, you will move on to the powerful and majestic Gulfoss waterfall, which is formed by meltwater from the nearby Langjökull glacier and the Hvita River. The beautiful sight of the two waterfalls totaling 32 meters can be enjoyed from a small plateau that is easily accessed from a small path. You should also take a stroll past the geyser Strokkur and be amazed when it springs many meters up in the air. The bus trip itself is also a very beautiful experience and lasts for 6-7 hours. The eventful day is capped off with a delicious 3-course menu at the hotel.
Day 4. Explore Iceland on your own
The day begins with a tasty breakfast at the hotel. Afterwards, you can explore Iceland on your own or buy our fantastic excursions. If you need relaxation and self-indulgence, we recommend a relaxing bath in the mineral bearing hot springs in the Blue Lagoon, and if you have not had enough of the magic northern light, you can purchase a northern light cruise that offers an unique view from the water. The boat has an outdoor deck perfect for watching the night sky and a warm indoor lounge. The day will end with the last, delicious 3-course menu at the hotel.
Dag 5. Return journey
Today you will be transferred from your hotel to the airport and return to Denmark.
